The recording is in dispute
The initial report was that Brazilian President Michael Temer was recorded saying to a JBS executive (in Portuguese)
:” I am paying Eduardo Cunha so he keeps quiet.” And Temer
responded: “You keep doing that.”
New reports say the audio isn’t clear and that the executive said “I am doing all
I can; staying friends with Eduardo Cunha” And Temer said: “You keep
doing that”.
The dispute has led to a small recovery in the Brazilian real today after the huge move yesterday.
