Say what you want about the problematic casting, but Ghost in the Shell is going to look absolutely bananas.
There’s some new footage in the latest glimpse of the the upcoming Ghost in the Shell movie, which seems to be the commercial expected to debut during Sunday’s big gridiron showdown. If you’re looking for something to be excited about, the over-the-top art direction is probably your best bet. The mindfuck story beats and crazy action choreography in the new promo clip for the Hollywood adaptation of the iconic Japanese manga/anime property are to be expected. It’s the hyper-saturated sensory overload aesthetic of the near-future world that actually makes me want to see this movie.
